Sewing 101: Make a Tote bag with Kristie Bentley

Requirements: Students should bring their own working machine that they know how to thread. Don’t forget your power cord and foot pedal!

Students will also need to bring to class:

-pattern: Simplicity S9308
-fabric of choice (see back of pattern for fabric recommendations and amount needed)
-thread to match fabric
-1 sheet of plastic canvas from craft section
-sharp fabric scissors
-washable fabric marking pen
-sewing pins and pin cushion
-seam gauge
-seam ripper
-measuring tape

This is a beginner class. It’s also a great class for someone who has some sewing knowledge but does not know how to read a sewing pattern. Students will learn basic sewing terminology and how to read a pattern by making a simple tote bag using Simplicity pattern S9308.
