Summer Camp
The Arts Place of Stokes offers a variety of fun and educational summer camps where students can learn a variety of new skillsets. These camps will engage and nurture student's creativity.
Register before May 22nd at 5:00pm and receive a $5 discount for each camp registration!

- Beginning Pottery Wheel | June 1-5 | 9am-12pm | Ages 12-18 | Limit 13 Students | $85
This Class will focus on beginner and intermediate instruction on the potter's wheel, providing proper techniques on throwing and glazing. Student's will create cups, bowls, and plates. Projects will be kiln fired at the end of camp and available for pick-up the following week.Ceramic Artist Sam Dougherty is the Instructor
- Hand-Building / Sculpture | June 8-12 | 10am-12pm | Ages 6-11 | $65 | Limit 15 Students
This class will feature several projects using basic methods such as coils, slabs, pinch pots, as well as the addition of textures and glazes and other materials. Projects will be kiln fired at the end of camp and available for pick-up the following week.Merideth Van Meter is the instructor and is the owner of His Promises Art Studio in King.
- Theatre Camp | June 15-19 | 9am-12pm | Ages 7-18 | Limit 25 Students | $75
Campers will experience all facets of youth theatre, including acting technique, improvisation, set & costume design and connection with the audience. The camp will conclude with students performing a short theatre show on Friday.Kimberly Boles & Brook Watts are the instructors
- Visual Arts Camp | June 22-26 | 9am-12pm | Ages 7-13 | Limit 20 Students | $75
If you want to sharpen your creative skills, explore new art tools, turn found objects into art, explore art themes and have some fun with other students artists, then this is the class for you! Join us for an exciting time of painting printing, drawing, mixed media, games and more, as we explore the world around us.
Lisa Atkins & Olivia Venable are the instructor and they are currently a Visual Arts teacher with Stokes County Schools.

- Ukulele | July 27-31 | 9am to 11am | Grades 3-8 | $60 | 10 students
Students will learn a mixture of songs from a variety of musical genres using the ukulele. For the week students will be loaned ukuleles and musical lead sheets to take home to practice. Students will learn to play and sing the different songs. At the end of the week students will perform for their families and the community.Andrew Young is the instructor, and is a Junior Appalachian Musician instructor, and Music teacher with Stokes County Schools.
