This ancient skill is practical, meditative, and wonderfully portable. Learn to card and draft raw wool fleece into handspun yarn on a drop spindle. Plying and finishing methods will be covered, too , and a variety of wood will be available to try. This foundational class will provide a deeper understanding of the construction of yarn. Students who wish to advance to spinning on a wheel will find the introductory skills taught in this class to be highly beneficial.

A $22 materials fee will be payable to the instructor on the day of the class. This will cover the cost of wool and a drop spindle for you to keep.
