Attendees select a handcrafted bowl made by Stokes County and regional ceramic artists, choose a locally made soup or stew, donate canned and non-perishable food items, all in support of Stokes County's three food banks, East Stokes Outreach Ministry, King Outreach Ministry, and Northern Stokes Food Pantry.

Since its beginning in 2015, Stokes Soup in a Bowl has contributed more than $75,000 and 7,000 lbs of food items to local food banks, with forty volunteers and three hundred attendees making it happen  each year.
