Introduction to Knitting
Have you ever wanted to learn to knit? Or perhaps you need a refresher? This class is a comprehensive beginner’s course that incorporates multiple skills into the creation of a beanie style hat. There are eight hours of instruction and a class limit of six students, ensuring lots of side-by-side learning. We’ll start with foundational information about reading a pattern and swatching and will progress through the making of the actual project. We’ll make a pom-pom topper for your hat if desired and will end with a lesson on washing wool garments. Students will leave with the confidence to not only make additional hats on their own, but to feel empowered to begin exploring patterns and projects beyond this one.
Knitting needles, stitch markers, a yarn needle, and wool yarn are provided.
Color selections are cream, tan, and red.
Learn Basic Skills: Read a pattern, casting on , knit stitch, purl stitch, ribbing, decreasing, wet finishing.
Snack provided, Rocky’s Coffee Shop will stay open until students arrive for any orders.
