The Stokes County Arts Council presents recent works on canvas and paper by artist Rebecca Dresser at the Jayebird Gallery inside the Hanging Rock State Park Visitors Center. This exhibit begins March 1, 2019 and runs until April 31, 2019.
Dresser is a full-time artist from Stokes County. Her works in watercolor, acrylics and photography have sold across the U.S. and Europe. She often showcases animals, birds, and nature themes, celebrating the beauty of the natural world.
In 2018 Dresser began creating art for Art-O-mart, which sells miniature works of art in nearly 100 repurposed cigarette vending machines located across the United States, Australia and Europe. To date, Dresser has delivered over 650 hand-painted blocks to Art-o-mat. They have sold all over the country including at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Smithsonian, Cosmopolitan Casino in Las Vegas, Halsey Institute of Art in South Carolina, Meow Wolf in Santa Fe and other locations in the West, Midwest, East Coast, and throughout the Southeast.
An opening reception will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the Jayebird Gallery from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The Jayebird Gallery is located inside the Hanging Rock State Park Visitors center at 1790 Hanging Rock Park Road, Danbury.
