Monty Stevens to exhibit at the Hanging Rock Gallery
The Stokes County Arts Council is honored to host Monty Stevens at the Hanging Rock Gallery during the months of March and April 2016. An opening reception will be held in his honor on Sunday, March 20th, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Hanging Rock Park Visitors’ Center, 1790 Hanging Rock Park Road, Danbury, North Carolina.
A native of Westfield, North Carolina, Monty is very enthusiastic about photography and loves to see the world through his viewfinder. His interests vary from sunrises and sunsets, nature, cars, landscapes and portraits. Growing up in Westfield, Monty appreciates the beauty Stokes County has to offer and spends a great deal of his time exploring the wonders of nature and capturing the moment with his camera. Monty Stevens Photography was featured in the January/February 2013 issue of the Yadkin Valley Living Magazine, and he has exhibited his work at the Stokes County Arts Council Apple Gallery. The exhibit at Hanging Rock will feature traditional matted and framed photographs, as well as, aluminum prints wherein the dye is injected into the metal, and Fractures which are photographs printed directly on glass. Both are different mediums from the traditional “print” photography and both are exquisite in their own right.
The public is invited to view this beautiful exhibit of work by Monty Stevens. Viewing of this exhibit and opening reception to meet the artist is free to the public. Hanging Rock State Park Visitors’ Center hours are Monday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. For more information, please contact the Stokes County Arts Council at (336) 593-8159.
