Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County Seeking Applications
for Regional Artist Grants
Residents of six counties are eligible
Winston-Salem, NC (April 15, 2010) -- The Arts Council of Winston-Salem
and Forsyth County is seeking applications for its 2010-2011
Regional Artist Project Grants. The program is operated in partnership
with the Davie County Arts Council, Foothills Arts Council,
Stokes County Arts Council, Surry Arts Council, and Yadkin Arts
Council. Residents of those counties, as well as Forsyth, are
eligible to apply.
The Regional
Artist Project Grant provides financial support to committed,
gifted individual artists and small, unincorporated groups of
collaborating artists. The grant is awarded to projects that
promise to advance the career of the artist or groups of artists
in the following disciplines: Music Composition, Film/Video,
Literature/Playwriting, Choreography/Dance, and Visual Art/Craft.
Guidelines and applications are available online at www.intothearts.org.
“There are not many opportunities for artists to obtain
assistance for something that relates directly to their career
advancement. We urge artists in the six-county region to look
at the guidelines to see if there is an opportunity here for
them,” said Milton Rhodes, President and CEO of The Arts
Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County.
The
Regional Artist Project Grant is funded and administered
by the Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County and
is supported by a grant from the North Carolina Arts Council.
Information sessions will be held at the following locations
