Jerrie Poindexter featured in the Apple Gallery

The Stokes County Arts Council welcomes photographer Jerrie Poindexter to the Apple Gallery, 500 Main Street, Danbury.

Poindexter’s love of photography began at the age of nine, when she was given a Kodak Pocket Instamatic camera for Christmas. She began spending all of her allowance money and summer work funds on film and film processing. Local landscapes, old barns and churches were some of her favorite subjects.

In recent years she has had the fortune to be mentored by professional photographers and has become more interested in the technical aspects of the medium, including digital imaging and editing. On display throughout the month of January, her exhibit captures the beauty of sights from across Stokes County.

An artist meet and greet will be held at the Apple Gallery on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public
