You Are Cordially Invited to Attend Christmas in Historic Danbury

The Stokes County Arts Council, the Stokes County Historical Society, the Town of Danbury, and Artist’s Way Creations invite you to an afternoon of nostalgic Christmas cheer on Sunday, December 4, 2016, 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., downtown North Main Street, Danbury, North Carolina.
Festivities include local arts and crafts demonstrations, performances by Steve and Olivia Shelton (2:00 p.m.), Don Richardson’s Line Dancers (2:30 p.m.), Hunter Simpkins (3:00 p.m.), CC Dance Company (3:30 p.m.), Bill Garrity (special Christmas music throughout the afternoon) and the NoneSuch Carolers on the Historic Courthouse steps (3:30 p.m., 5:00 p.m.). There will be photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus – all at Artist’s Way Creations with proceeds supporting the Animal Rescue of Stokes and the Stokes Animal Shelter project. Stokes County Arts Council board members and staff will host tours of the newly renovated “Arts Place of Stokes (2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.).
The Stokes County Historical Society will open the doors to the beautifully decorated museum (1854 Wilson Fulton House) with guests Ron and Julie Morgan performing a special reading “Christmas 1859” at 2:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., Randell Jones, award winning historical author of “Before They Were Heroes at Kings Mountain”, will be available for a book signing and to meet and greet the guests, and heritage wood carver Mike Davis will be on site with demonstrations of his beautiful wood creations.
The Town of Danbury will host the “Annual Christmas Event Celebration” – the tree lighting and candle lighting dedication/honorary veteran ceremonies, special guests and Christmas caroling.
Artist Way will host delicious samplers for us to enjoy as well as have delicious baked goodies along with hot cocoa and apple cider for purchase to get you in the mood for Christmas.
