Artist Statement…
I am a photographer based in Stokes County, North Carolina. I went to school to study portrait photography but chose to study commercial photography for the experience, and I truly enjoyed it. Today I am a portrait, events, children, and fine art photographer. My passion is to capture the heart of the moment and to create emotion-evoking images. I also like to play around with new and creative ideas. I have found that photographing children is my niche because children are not afraid to express themselves, which enables me to capture effortless and indelible moments.

I was born in Weimar, Texas – the youngest of nine children. There are not a lot of pictures of my family, and I do not know what I looked like under the age of ten. I treasure the few pictures I have, my favorite of which is a photograph of my family standing on the front porch of our old farmhouse.

Though the inclinations have always been present, I didn’t discover a love of photography until my late thirties when I started taking pictures at my church with a Minolta point and shoot camera. I fell in love with documenting events. These days I shoot with a Canon digital. Someday I would like to have my own dark room. There is nothing like seeing your images as they come to life.

I am also passionate about Random Acts of Kindness and enjoy using my art to contribute to organizations and causes that I support.

When I am not behind a camera, I enjoy spending time with my children and grandchildren, developing alternative avenues to display my love of creativity, gardening, learning to cook healthy meals, and learning to live a more self-sufficient lifestyle.

For a chance to meet Belinda Eldridge and view her beautiful photographs, visit Hanging Rock’s Visitor Center Sunday, August 6, 2017, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
