Deborah King S. of DKS Studio is an artist, illustrator, graphic designer and Charleston, SC native. Her paintings, in watercolor and pastel, are on display in the Apple Gallery throughout July. A virtual opening is being held on Friday, July 10, 2020 live on Facebook at www.fb.me/StokesArtsNC.
Deborah takes inspiration from life around her, primarily
nature, but has an eye for the old, odd or unusual. After 30 years in graphic
design and printing Deborah is now a full time artist, teaching and continually
developing her techniques and creative endeavors. Illustrations from her time
in printing have appeared in printed materials all over South Carolina and in
the children’s book “Fali”.
Deborah was selected for the Artist in Residence program by
Oconee State Park, SC for 2016 and Poinsett State Park, SC for 2017 and has
works in their permanent collections.
Deborah has won numerous awards for her artistic works. She
has worked in a wide variety of mediums but is currently focusing on watercolor
and pastels. Many of her works are in private collections throughout the US and
abroad.
Deborah has been an Exhibiting member of the Charleston Artist Guild, Folly Beach Artist and Crafters Guild and the Summerville Artist guild, as well as the founder and coordinator of “Just Go Paint” Plein Air Painters.
